Layout 1 - This is the default, with Mail, Messages and Info window active.

This is the main user interface; each server type (mail, ping, ftp, news) and every information view (messages, info, activity, debug) has its own window, so you can choose the layout that best fits your needs.

Size, position and trasparency of every window is saved, so next time you have

Configure EMAIL server - The most important dialog.
General mail configuration (POP3, IMAP4 and Hotmail support)
Each server name can have its own font color.
In this window you have to insert the account info of your
mail server, first of all you have to chioce a visual name and a visual color,
color must be useful if you have a lot of server.
Then you have to choice the interval between check, if you put 0 the server
is disabled, but you can check it manually.
Also you have to choice if you want checkP3 check this server at startup.
This info is equal for ALL server.
And now, type you mail server address (see your favourite
email client and copy from it), your account your password, and type of server.
If you are not sure of password, press Show/Hide button, thet works only in
insert mode and NOT in modify mode.
If you click 'newer messages first', the messager are inverse ordered, but don't
worry, every server window and messages windows can be sorted for every colums.
Advanced Email configuration (Notice support for SSL and for checking
an alternative folder)
This is the advanced tab of mail server, first of all you can notice the timeout option and the use of firewall, this is the common part of all server, adapt this option for your network.
Then, if you have strange mail server, here you can set a
different port, and also if the server is not pop3, you can check every folder
you need (you can set 2 server, that is the same machine but different folder).
You can also preview some lines of message, this affect the antispam option
'BODY'.
Security is the most important thing of CheckP3, i have hard
worked for it.
CheckP3 can use APOP, CRAM-MD5 and SSL, try all for your server and see if work.
The explanation of security is too complex here, you can find a lot of documentation
on internet.
The 'New Event' dialog. SAME FOR ALL SERVER TYPES.
Notice support for MS Agents and for the Tip Window (like MS Messenger)
This window is common for all server, here you have the notification type when new event occur.
There is a popup window, with a brief description of new
event and an optionally 60 seconds sound.
A short pc speaker beep.
A tip windows, in the right bottom of scrren, like Msn Messenger, the tip window
autoclose after some seconds.
You can use microsoft Agent, configure Agent in the main configuration Window.
You can play a sound file.
You can run a particular program, environment variable and parameters are supported
The AntiSpam dialog - applies to Email servers only.
This is the antispam mail-server window.
Here you can choice the action of THIS mail server when a particular message
is found.
The WhiteList is the Friend-List, all message that follow this rules will NEVER
be delete, and are marked 'bold' or other style that you choise.
Other are the action if a message is marked SPAM, and the rule are NOT test
(see antispam configuration).

Here you can set option for trace the path of your packet,
and to resolve this path.
Firewall not suported here.
Define antispam rules - Another important dialog.
Anti Spam
Here you can define anti-spam rules.
Type a rule, choice is there is plain text or regular expression, choise the
header field to apply (MESSAGE BODY IS SUPPORTED IF YOU PREVIEW SOME LINES)
and press ADD.
The default action is Highlight subject, this is a TEST version, because not
follow the mail server rule (that also have a highligh action). If you want
follow mail-server rules, choice 'Server action'.
Regular expression it's difficult to explain here, use carefully and read all
manual and documentation that you can find over the internet.
White List
This is like AntiSpam list, but mail here can never be deleted, you can import all outlook address book, so all mail from your friend are never marked SPAM and are bold selected.

Type your address (CheckP3 take it from main program configuration if are defined), destination address and press SEND :-)

Program configuration tabbed dialog
General
This is the main configuration program windows, here you
can set the behavior of CheckP3 and other useful options.
We begin the explanation:
Start iconized: If active, when checkP3 start, don't show the main window,
but put itself in iconized format. Remenber that CheckP3 has an icon in the
taskback near clock.
Start Automatically: If active, the program start when windows start.
This option work in multiuser environment under Win2000/XP.
Minimize on 'close' button: Here you change the behavior of close button.
When press it and option is set, CheckP3 don't close, but iconized itself. This
is very useful, and if you want to exit the program use right click in taskbar
icon or menu.
SSL: CheckP3 support SSL connection for mail server, to do this it use
external OpenSSL library. This library are loaded also if there are no server
that use it. If you don't want to load it, check this option. This is useful
only if there are no server that use SSL or SSL has some problem with other
sortware on your system.
Then here there are some buttons and box for select default language, font
and background color of CheckP3 window.
You can find additional language here in this site, if not there is your language,
then make you the translation and to send it to me.
Firewall setting
Firewall: This is the place where you can set firewall option. If your network have a firewall, copy the setting from some other program, or ask your system/network administrator.
Parameters for sending mail from CheckP3
This is optionally send mail configurazion.
You can set your email address (xxx@xxxx.xx) your name (john smith)
and your default outgoing mail server (copy it from the default mail
program), and the use of firewall.
This option is used only if "default mail client" in NOT set, and
you use CheckP3 to send mail.
When do it, this option are copied in the send mail window, and you can change
it.
Ms agent configuration
Agent: Here you can set/previee/edit MS Agent Avatar, remember
that Agent MUST be installed on your system to use it. If you don't see a list
of Avatar probably it will not installed.
Some users report that MS Agents can cause problem with other applications.
If you have problems check the option for 'disable' and checkP3 don't load MS
Agent library
Atomic clock synchronization
Here you can syncronize your PC with an atomic clock over the internet, choice the nearest to you (probably same 1'st level domain... .it if here in italy), and test it. If york you can sincronize your pc clock at program startup, or with menu action.
'Busy Mode' - it can automatically start your (password-protected) screen
saver.
Busy mode means thet you are not on your computer. This happen
when ScreenSaver Start of when you tell CheckP3 that you are going out.
When Busy is ON, CheckP3 can perform 4 behavior, choice the one you prefer.
If "busy mode start screen saver" is set and ScreeSaver is password
protected, you can use This Option to lock workstation when you are going out.
This is very useful for me.
